Isaiah 7:15
"He know enough to refuse the evil and choose the good.”
Human nature prompts us to be constant evaluators. We evaluate everything!
Such things include if we are able to do an upcoming job correctly, or if we are ever going to lose the weight we need. We are on the prowl to ensure EVERYTHING that comes our way is given careful consideration.
Sadly, this includes many negative self-talk. "Gosh, I've been trying forever to lose this weight. I guess it's just a part of aging."
"My boss keeps throwing more and more stuff on my lap. If I do anymore it is going to affect my health more."
We can't help it. It's ingrained to help us from being hurt.
But what if you took 10 minutes out of your day every morning to have a "positive think session"?
Just 10 minutes each morning before you get out of bed? And start by saying to yourself, "I am going to think about a few things for 10 minutes." Then open your heart to what the Bible tells us to think about. This would make our lives improve dramatically. In these few minutes we would be experiencing more of the "good life" that God has planned for us.
Disciplining ourselves to think properly by having on-purpose "think session" will train us to begin thinking properly in our everyday lives. One of the things all believes need to think every day is this Biblical truth:
I am in right-standing with God, through Christ.
Thinking this will help you live in the reality of who God has made you to be. Why not think something on purpose that will benefit you rather than merely meditating on what ever happens to fall into your mind?
We use our thinking abilities every day, but most of us need to change the content of our thoughts. Instead of thinking , "I'm no good; I mess up everything; I never do anything right" we can change that mental energy to think about how much God loves us and how we are in a right relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
As you spend more time thinking correctly, great transformations will take place in your life. You might have to put notes around your house that say, "What have YOU been thinking today?" You might have to put a note in your car to remind you to think positive thoughts. Or, you may want to write those exact positive words on a sticky note and post it.
Thinking those positive thoughts will change your life so dramatically you'll be amazed. So, take 10 minutes every morning and begin to carve our a new you.
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to "take 10 minutes every morning to think positive."
Pray:
Help me to realize that any type of negative talk is self destructing.
Teach me to pray I am in right-standing with God, through Christ.
Remind me that there is more to life than what I think.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always
