"I press on toward the goal to win the (supreme and heavenly) prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward."
Are you trying to get something done and life is pressing you?
Well, press back HARD and don't give up.
I know sometimes we feel it may be a "sign" that we should stop, things just aren't working out like we planned. But, then again, there is that inner voice telling you, "get up, pull up your bootstraps and keep moving!" These are the times that we must buckle down, don't give in. Don't let adversity keep us from attaining what is truly meant for us.
These are the times we need to PRESS BACH HARD ON LIFE and keep towing.
An important part of never giving is making the right choices while you are hurting, discouraged, frustrated, confused, or under pressure. The right choice is often the harder choice. And when were in the thick of it, we naturally want to take the path of least resistance. But those are exactly the moments when you need to discipline yourself to make the tougher choice. In order the reap the blessings that are meant for you, you have to do what is right when your down. That is pressing back when life is pressing at you. It is one important component to master and grow with. Because giving up is just so much easier.
You will never get where you want to be in life without being willing to sacrifice that peaceful life of yours. And we never get too old to grow and change. When you're trying to integrate something new in your life, you will need to sacrifice and push through those obstetrical littering your path. Those obstacles may be attitude, a set of circumstances, a relationship, an issue with your past, a kind of mind-set, a feeling, or a bad habit. Whatever it is, you are the only one who can put press thought it. No one else can take your hand, hand-holding you throughout this encounter.
Think of this when you need to press: "To press means to exert steady force of pressure against something." That simply means you need to press against the pressure that is pressing against you. And you've got to do it with an even greater force. Why? Because nothing is truly worth anything in life without exerting some effort.
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to "Press back, Lord."
Help me to realize that giving up is not the answer.
Teach me to trust that if life presses I need to press back, HARD.
Remind me that everything will fall into place.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always
