Mark 11:23
"Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and
thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he
says will come to pass, it will be done for
him. "
Happy Memorial Day to all of you! May we take time to remember loved ones that served today! Just about every one of us has a member in our families that was affiliated with the armed forces. May we extend blessings to those courageous individuals who have or still do fight for our freedom. May we also take another moment to relish the freedom of loving all those that surround us today.
It is ironic as we weave this tapestry of life and darn the squares that have shredded or become detached. Some pieces stay unattached on the floor for periods as we refuse to even look upon them. But the fear certain holes will leave in our life unattended force us to redesign this quilt so that our lives appear whole from a distance. We cry and commiserate as we stitch these pieces wondering why God has slipped these unprecedented atrocities in our life, yet these are the remnants that we weave that make our quilt whole, the fabric of our life. It is who we are, and how we've gotten here today.
The hardest discipline of life is remembering the importance of faith. Sometimes these nuances are so uninviting, yet years later, speak a different tune. I know from experience my most devastating circumstances have been an aid to me later in life providing valuable information. It is important to realize the light of self-reasoning does not come the moment most desired. Reasoning can take its good ol' time shedding light on a unsightly situation. But, usually the light comes swiftly when the plan has been unfolded, and we realize God had us in his arms all along.
I believe the most difficult course to follow is when God asks our help. During this time we may be specifically targeted to help one of his own. Sometimes it may cause a big turnover in our own lives by shattering that sublime environment we've created. Shifting our gears of reality and possible new pattern options of our own quilt, we feel frightened and overwhelmed with uncertainty as to why this was laid in our laps. I believe these to be the times most difficult. The times when common reasoning holds no justification as to what may be happening in our life at the moment. We are on the river of life paddling endlessly trying to reach that desired tributary, in hopes of doing what he asks. But, the current is too strong and drives us to another shore. These are the times that you take in the paddles, lie back, and head out for the ride. These rides are predetermined, and we may not find our own self-reasoning to be of use. We must put full faith in him and realize that he is weaving the intricate pattern of our lives. That pattern that shapes who and what we are today, and what we will be tomorrow. Don't ask why, just float.
Daily Guidance
1. If you are feeling frustrated and wondering what path God has chosen, let go. Realize that he has you in his arms and is holding you tightly. Realize that it may take some time to see the true light.
2. Find comfort in your Bible during these times looking for verses that help you realize that God has not forsaken you.
3. Up your prayer channel. These are the times not to open the gap, but close the gap as you rely on frequent converstations with God.
4. Don't be so hard on yourself. You may not be in the most optimal task mode if a crisis is at hand. Do what ever it takes to keep your spirits up. Let go of some responsibilities and don't be afraid to ask for help.
