Monday's Blessing
Daniel 6:23
"The King was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted God."
One of the most dramatic scenes in the Bible is when Daniel is thrown into the lion's den. The King has given an order that anyone who prays will be punished by death. Daniel has been asked to choose between the order of an earthly king or faithfulness to the Lord God. He chooses God and makes that choice to pray. Right there in front of everyone! And hence, Daniel is fed to the lions.
Yet, Daniel's faith was strong, his beliefs unaltered that God WILL deliver him - and HE does. Daniel decided to not be the victim of his faith but to be victorious. Through his steady faith, God blesses Daniel and in full view for all to see. Thousands of years later, this is still one of the most iconic stories in the Bible. Daniel's faith inspires us all today.
When we are draped in such faith we know full well that God is in our lives and we cannot fail. "For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in heavens and on earth. He has rescued Daniel form the power of the lions." (Daniels 6:26-27). That said, all things are possible!
When was the last time you shared God? Are you often in fear afraid of being mauled emotionally from unacceptors? Don't you realize that the person in front of you, needing to hear the Lord's voice through you, may have been guided to your path? Be strong in your Christianity and share your faith where appropriate. Speak of God's loving kindness and his will to ensure everyone lives productively, safely, and with love. Be there for him as he is for you in your time of need. God will protect you from the lions when he calls on you.
Dear God, I draw strength
from your endless love and live in your limitless grace.
Protect me today and every day.
