John 14:27
“Peace I leave you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”
Do you ever notice how some people just seem to be programmed with happiness? It's as though no matter what life slings at them they still have that smiling face. Watching these people can at times be annoying. Do you wonder how they paste that smile on each hour? How they get by continually exposing those pearly whites?
Well, it may come as a shock to you but happiness is a choice. When you rise in the morning you do choose to be happy are blue. It's all in the attitude. Yes, believe it or not, it's solely up to you. Regardless of what life slaps at you, it is up to you to dictate how it affects you.
So, you might as well choose to be happy and enjoy life for the day. What's the use of pouting around? Someone going to take all that pain away for you? Of course not! Furthermore, when you do that, not only will you fell better, but your faith will cause God to show up and work wonders when you least expect it. God knows that we have difficulties, struggles, and challenges. No one is exempt. But it was never his intention for us to live one day all smiles and bubbles and the next day down in the dreary dumps. Got wants us to live consistently whether its full of crap or not.
It's all in the state of mind. By the act of your will, choose to start enjoying your life right now at this moment. Learn to enjoy your family, friends, health, and work. Begin to enjoy everything in your life. How do you start? Find the small things to smile at. The bigger picture will soon follow. It's like putting a puzzle together. Eventually, all of the smaller pieces make up the entire portrait. Certainly we are always going to be plagued with nuances. We can't change that, but you can choose how you will internalize them, and no one else can help with that but you.
In the Bible, God promises peace. Yes, peace. No matter what is going on, you can always call out for that peace. "God this is getting to much! How about that peace you promised?" You will instantly feel it. We have to learn to tap into that supernatural peace. It is always there. The way we do that is by making a conscious choice.
Remember, God NEVER gives us too much to handle. God said he would never let us go through something that is too difficult for us to process (1 Corinthians 10:13). When negative things happen to us, no matter how much we openly protest, none of it is going to make it better. So why expend the energy if we are gaining to positive result?
The Bible says we are here like a mist, a vapor; a moment then we're gone (James 4:14). Life is flying by. Don't waste another moment of your precious time being a sourpuss. The Psalmist said, "This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24). Notice he didn't say, "Hey this is one heck of day. Let's try again tomorrow." He was talking about today, at this moment right now.
Choose to be happy.
