Matthew 19:24
"Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
The simple things in life are the jewels of daily blessings. Working with simplicity is the state of being simple, uncomplicated. It allows you to be clear, direct - uncompounded with diverse thoughts patrolling your brain. Being simple leaves you free of judgment or perception opening your mind to divine intervention.
Yet, for some reason we thrive on drama. When life is going a tad too slow, we become bored, a bit out of tune. We want some excitement, something to stir up that mundane lifestyle we abhor. Then when the opportunity hits, we lament wondering how we got into this predicament to begin with. If we are lonely, we rush into a relationship because being alone can be uncomfortable. Our patience dwindles as we wait and pray for "Mr. Right" often picking the first person that stirs our fancy. Yet, when we become involved and unhappy, we relish and dream of freedom again. What makes us this way?
Why do we welcome this drama in our lives? Why can't we accept simplicity? The sheer fact of being comfortable in what we do? Why do we invite this havoc that makes us stop breathing? Stop living? Make our hands turn cold? Dull our senses? Makes our mouths run dry? This STRESS? Possibly as humans we crave complex, dramatic, gory, heart-wrenching drama. This is why we sit glued watching reality shows comparing our life with others. What is this innate trait inherited to us all?
Apparently it is something that we must work on life long. Something we must remind ourselves daily that we don't need regardless of the draw. Thank God life provides us with opportunities of self correction. Look at the simple things that make your life whole. Realize the simple truth that God loves you and will provide for you. Realize the simple truth that you chose your world by what you think, what you do, and what you say.
