Philippians 1:6
"I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."
Maybe you have endured terrible disappointments lately. Possibly unspeakable negative circumstances happened to you beyond your control. Are you questioning your own self worth? Feeling that your prayers are going unanswered? Are you unable to envision that rainbow around the corner at this stage in life? Are you drifting through life right now taking what ever comes your way just to survive? Have you lost your dreams?
Believe it or not even staunch Christians fall into this rut from time to time. We are just plugging along doing our mercifully crafted list that has worked so far, and suddenly we are struck down without warning. Sometimes it is so deadly that it sucks the life right out of us. We are aimless wanderers for a while drifting from hour to hour. Scrutinizing on how we could have prevented such an occurrence. What we fail to realize is that we are not exempt. Life perils follow everyone and we know not what hour they will occur. We can all be victims at any moment.
At this point we must realize that God wants us to have a good life. This life should be full of love, joy, peace, and fulfillment. That doesn't mean it will always be easy. What it does mean that life will be good. God causes all things to be good for those who love him. When perils start you can believe in him for a better marriage. You can request better health. You can believe in an increase in abundance. Know that you should have joy, happiness, and peace. Realize that this latest nuance will not last forever.
When times get tough - and it happens quite often - Keep on believing in God. Keep in mind these discouragements will come to pass; God is turning things around in your favor. He is opening new doors of opportunity for you. He is restoring relationships for you and softening people's hearts in your favor. It may not be coming quick enough for you, but you must believe in the unseen world that God is working on your behalf.
Today, climb up out of your rut. Look out your window and notice the world is still going without you. God doesn't want you dragging through life. Pick up your bootstraps and begin a small step forward today. You are never without God. He has been nudging you all along. Prodding you into the right direction. You have just given up and said, "I can't right now, I need to sulk." Some people say, "It's too late. My life is too overwhelming; you can't unscramble eggs." That is true. But God can take scrambled eggs and make an amazing omelet.
