Matthew 12:34
"How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.”
Out of the heart the mouth speaks. That is one powerful statement. We are all connected to our hearts and from this our mouth overflows with misintentions. Words that are not connected to Christ at times due to our own inability to connect with him first.
We can learn a lot about ourselves by just listening to our inner thoughts. Do your thoughts reflect your complete dependence on Christ? Do you realize that He is the ONLY one who can empower you to do anything you need to do in life?
I have to examine my own thoughts continuously. This is not something we can look at from time to time and realize that we are made in love, feel love, and therefore seek and only give love. That is utterly preposterous when we live in a society which consistently puts us at odds. It is something that must be done on a continuum. Something that is constantly being evaluated every hour of every minute of every day.
There are times I don't like my thoughts or actions and must do reevaluations on how I portray myself to others. At times I need to make changes. The first step is admitting I am wrong. The second step is to the face the truth and continue to make a change. Sometimes that's not easy. But I know I'll be a better person in the end with more peace of mind than when I started.
You must be willing to face anything God wants to show you and ask Him to change you. This is great at the time you are not trusting in your strength. Begin to trust in HIM instead. Let go of your human heart and abilities. Tell God you want Him to work through you and let His sufficiency be your sufficiency.
When challenges arise think:
I can do whatever I need to do through Christ Who is my strength.
Remember words are powerful ammunition to fuel your motives. Don't fill your reserves with things that disable you, for truly you are able to do all things through Christ. God will ask you to do things you'd never be able to do in your own strength, but he will give you His strength to do them.
If you constantly mediate on:
I can do whatever I need to do through Christ Who is my strength.
You will find that you are not as easily overwhelmed by situation that arise. Each time you roll that thought over and over in your mind you are developing a healthy mind-set that enables you to be victorious.
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to "I can do whatever I need to do through Christ Who is my strength."
Pray:
Help me to meditate: I can do whatever I need to do through Christ Who is my strength .
Teach me to pray to Christ for my needs.
Remind me that I can not do it alone.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always.
