Mark 9:23
"And Jesus said, if you can do anything? All things can be possible to him who believes.”
Got a situation that you've been mulling over in your mind? Trying to find out what road offers the best advantages?
Maybe you've got the steering wheel and driving unaccompanied, by yourself on a long deserted road.
Letting go and Letting God is tough. Sometimes it takes JUST TOO long for him to answer us in the manner we feel is right.
Supposed you feel you can't wait to get married, so you decide to find the perfect mate yourself. Of course, in your own way on your own time. That is instead of waiting on God. Think of the terrible mistake you could make settling for someone who is not your caliber. It surely would be much better to be patient and wait for divine connections.
Maybe you are married, and you have been thinking, "Gosh, I need my spouse to change. He is so utterly annoying, I just can't do this any longer." Deep down inside you know only God can change your spouse. Unfortunately, God does not move into your life when your struggles are deepest. This can be so frustrating. You end up taking matters into your own hands which heightens the frustration. Actually, he moves when you trust him, not the other way around. So, pray, cast your care on him, and leave your hands OFF the situation, trust God, and go ahead and enjoy the rest of your life.
You could also be knee deep in issues with your children. Maybe you are self-directing their change. You may need more money, or a different job. Let me tell you that desiring change is part of living. You are always going to want something in your life to change. So if you want happiness, the bottom line is to stop expecting immediate gratification. Just QUIT TRYING.
Numerous times, I too, have tried to navigate change throughout my own life. It is innate. You can't stop it. The only thing I can do is remind myself I don't have a hand in this. I can't change myself or others only God can. You can only tell God you are willing to change and ask for his guidance. You can only offer your life to him through prayer and studying His word, then leave the rest to him. The effort we should be making is "leaning" on him only.
For a moment take a deep breath. Think about what I've just said. Now, let that current issue go. Let God take it. Let go of the reigns. How does that feel at this very moment? Free right? Doesn't the day look brighter? Now just keep reminding yourself that each time it surfaces.
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to "trust you and let you take the reigns."
Pray:
Help me to meditate: on letting things go and placing them in your hands.
Teach me to be patient and know my blessings will come.
Remind me that I need your help.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always.
