1 Corinthians 1:27-29
"God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to same the strong. He chose the lowly tings of this world and despised things -- and the things that are not-- to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him."
Ever feel like your the odd man out?
All those other "Holy rollers" are spouting and singing the praises of God, and you seem to have nothing to show for your hard work at prayer? These times can be difficult especially if everyone is boasting about all their good fortune when yours just hasn't hit yet.
Maybe you're quiet, a bit more reserved and humble than most. Maybe you follow on the "good path" each day but don't see the blessings others may be noting about. Maybe you notice all those boastful individuals taking advantages of good fortune and wondering where your cut of the pie is. But I can tell you God never loses sight nor forgets about anyone.
In fact it amazes me that God chooses weak and foolish men and women to work through, but He does. He chooses what the secular world would throw away as trash and consider useless. When God is looking for someone to fill a position or to promote, He often passes over those who would be naturally qualified, who may not give him all the credit and glory for his abilities. God works through the humble, but he frustrates and defeats the proud (Peter 5:5).
God loves to lift up those whom life has pressed down. You are special to God and He has a promotion in mind for you. He desires that we live amazed at what He can do through unexplained blessings. God is not looking for ability. He is looking for availability. So don't wonder if humbling yourself under the mighty hand of God is doing the right thing. In due time he will exalt you and lift you up. Don't discount yourself from being used by God because of your humbleness or challenges. He is more than happy to show himself at the most unexpected time and engage your trust to your advantage.
Pride comes before destruction, so always remember to give God the credit for any good thing he does in your life. Our gifts, our talents all come from Him. What do we have that He did not give us? Absolutely not a thing. Therefore, when your time comes make sure to give all praise to him.
This Week's Meditation:
I trust God will give me glory.
Pray:
Help me through my humbleness to remain faithful.
Don't allow other people's boastful nature get to me.
I know my blessing will come soon.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always.
