Philippians 4:19
"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ
Jesus."
In Philippians, God promises to attend to our every need. At times we may not have a clue what needs are pertinent, but in his good grace - being our father, he knows what truly makes us happy. At times, for me, this is a hard pill to swallow. There are things I
want something desperately but can't find the ends of the means. But, I'm
confident God works in mysterious ways, and will provide me ultimately. I am
also aware that sometimes he uses us as instruments to meet the needs of others.
Sometimes I'm busy, and put it off like any other normal human being. But, I
must open my heart and remember that God is usually at the root of these
feelings, and that these "inklings" prompt me to do good for others - and the
cycle begins.
There are times I haven't offered aid, because I didn't feel I received appropriate gratification. Nor did I receive the proper reciprocant treatment when I was in the same mess. But, let's be honest, I don't think this is the root of a charitable aid. Charity is the practice of benevolent caring and giving. To be benevolent means you enjoy the act of charity. It is unfortunate, but this definition doesn't include personal
gratification other than the joy of doing for others. There is a sense of
comfort knowing that you've made someone else's life a bit brighter today. As
they say, "Roll with that." From now on, be charitable for the sense of being
so! Be on the look out to do random acts of kindness this week for
others.
1. In your daily prayers, ask God to guide you to those of need. Remember, for all those you bless, God's blessing extends two-fold for you. Blessing others, always blesses you.
2. Don't be concerned in reaping the benefits of gratitude. Remember, silence is golden. At times silent offerings are better accepted. Most individuals do not feel comfortable with charity. Do a good deed and don't let your intent be known.
3. Sometimes a smile or a hug is all a family member, friend, co-worker, or stranger needs to feel connected to the world again.
4. Be on the lookout to perform Random Act of Kindness this week!
