“But seek first of all His kingdom and His righteousness, and then all these things taken together will be given you besides."

Sometimes life just gets in the way and we lose true sight of what matters.
Matthew 6:44 tells us that when we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, He will give us everything we need. It is a matter of putting God first in our lives. Not really that simple.
Even though we want God to help us, it is sometimes difficult to consistently put Him first. It may seem easy to trust Him with our life when we are following the golden rule, but some days you may be tempted to take control again. Seeking God and putting Him first requires building an intimate relationship with Him that will sustain you every day of the week. God knows what we need better than we do, and He longs to provide it, but He requires that we make Him top priority in our lives.
Many years ago, my relationship with God relied on church going. Like most Christians, I put my time in on Sundays and prayed for a positive week. Much of the week was anticipating hurdles and how I was going to move over or past them. I was still in control. I love God and Christ with all my heart, but was still ensuring my path was to be an easy one. Requiring the use of your whole heart means pitfalls. Life simply is not going to be easy. And sometimes we just don't know why hurdles come our way.
By crying out for help, realize that God is always there to pick you up and give you the peace you so deserve. Life will always be there to throw out obstacles. Realize God will help you maneuver them.
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to "Trust in God."
Help me to meditate each day: "Lord forged this relationship so we are braided together."
Teach me to be patient and know you will mentor me. Remind me that prayer motivates me.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always.
