Matthew 13:16
"Blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear"
I believe that God usually meets us at our own levels of comfort. Our expectations dictate his blessings. That's why, I think, our expectations can set boundaries for our lives. Jesus said, "According to your faith... be it done to you." Another translation says, "Become what you believe." ( Matthew 9:29)
Some people tend to expect the worse. They begin complaining about their oppressions the minute they wake in the morning looking for small blessings in the landscape. Others feel overwhelmed of everything that is laid by their feet. They have difficulty believing anything good could happen to them. They remind everyone close to them all the problematic issues of their life.
I once read a book called The Secret. I was prompted by John, a dear friend, to do so. I never had seen John so excited as he unfolded the highlights of the book to me. "You are not going to believe what this book will do for you!" He told me. "Just this morning I programmed my mind to get a parking spot right near my doctor's office door. Now, I got to tell you THAT spot is NEVER open. But, as I drove down the road I EXPECTED that spot to be open and it was." I remember relating that to the promises of the Bible. If we expect and have faith we will receive. That was a powerful message that never leaves me.
Programming your mind for success doesn't come naturally. Each day you must drive the message home. You must expect GOOD things to happen the minute you wake up in the morning. The first thing you must say is, "This day is going to be fantastic! I know God will bless me completely. I know he will set me in the right direction today guiding my steps. Using faith and expectancy will naturally draw positive things in your life.
When those negative voices creep in saying, "You know today is going to be like yesterday, you still have ________ to deal with. Nothing good happens to you, get used to it." Don't listen to such lies! "Faith is the substance of things hoped for" (Hebrews 11:1) Start anticipating doors of opportunity to open for you. Expect to excel in your career. Count on rising above life's challenges. Do it EVERY day this week!
My friends, start believing that good things will come your way and they will!
