Psalm 91:11
"For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."
Because of my ever present blessings in the most unexpected situations, I am a true believer in the constant protections of angels. In my heart, I am certain, that one is picked for each of us to protect us from harm each day of our life. How else can you explain those harrowing circumstances of near misses from oncoming traffic?
I can rely on countless times that someone has intercepted fate for me. These are times when I am unaware or too busy for prayer to trickle in on time. It is about those split seconds when you breathe a sigh of relief that something awesome "has your back."
Some of these situations may not be a large magnitude either. Recently, running late for a doctor's appointment, I was almost certain I left my phone back at my job. I was sitting in the waiting room shuffling through my purse trying to locate it without much luck. It was late as I ran to the parking lot realizing my phone was not in tow. Fear gripped me because my job has an alarm, and after hours is not the prime spot to be. I rushed to the car hoping that my phone be in the cracks of the car seat as it sometimes is known to fall. Thinking I may have to take the chance and go back to work and retrieve it, I opened the car door and there it was sitting blatantly on my seat. Now how did I miss that going out of the car? I remember grabbing my purse and looking at the seat before I left.
This passage reminds me that God himself has commanded angels to be by our sides. I am strengthened and encouraged to imagine them with me each minute of the day. These simple words fill me with respect for the presence of such supreme beings and inspire innate devotions due to their loving service. I feel confident of their promised protection.
These angels are here by our sides every hour of the day to protect and guide us. Our Father has selected them to take charge with their great love. Always obeying God's command, they come to help us in our time of need.
God in heaven, oh, blessed one,
watch over me please and draw me near.
Send your angels to be my side,
to light and to guard, to love and to guide.
