2 Corinthians 12:9
"My grace is enough for you; for my strength and power are made perfect and show themselves most effective in weakness.”
Works of the flesh that we attempt through our own energy are God's job.
What do YOU want right now? Is it tough waiting it out?
We become frustrated when we try to achieve by works a life that God not only brought into being but designated to be received by grace. Grace is the power of God to meed our needs and solve our problems. (James 4:6)
I can not remember a moment in my life when God wasn't in it. Even as a small child I remember the closeness I always felt with Jesus. There seemed not to be a moment in a single day I didn't feel his presence in my life. And I was content always knowing he'd take care of everything.
As I grew, so did my needs. At times, I felt guilty trying to handle some of my own circumstances instead of relying on God. I'd often find myself in a predicament thinking I've got it all together and then feel lost and alone without Christ's guidance. I quickly realized it is not a sign of weakness to admit I can not help myself without the love of our Lord. Jesus said, "Apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
You may be frustrated, struggling, and unhappy simply because you are trying to fix something yourself. Perhaps you have a situation in your life that you don't want, and you are trying to get rid of it. Maybe there is something you do want and are trying hard to get, yet nothing you try is working out and it is frustrating. In any case, the only thing you can do is cease from your own works, and trust God. Rely on him. While you are waiting for God to take the reigns, enjoy it. Take a break and feel comfortable knowing it is taken care of.
When you stop and consider all the ways God's blessed you through his generous grace, instead of being frustrated, you'll be filled with gratitude.
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to "trust you and let you take the reigns."
Pray:
Help me to meditate: on letting things go and placing them in your hands.
Teach me to be patient and know my blessings will come.
Remind me that I need your help.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always.
