1 Peter 2:12
"Conduct yourselves properly among the Gentiles, so that, although they may slander you as evildoers, they may by witnessing your good deeds glorifying God in the day of inspection."
I believe the world is watching us now as Christians, especially during this great political debate.
What people see Christians do is very important at this moment. In the Scripture mentioned, Peter encouraged believers to conduct themselves properly and honorably among the Gentiles, the unbelievers of the day. He said even if the unbelievers were inclined to slander the believers, the unbelievers would eventually come to glorify God if they saw the believers' good works and loving deeds.
If your neighbors know you go to church on Sunday then they will watch your behavior. Many Christians on the fence can be handed a one way ticket out of the spiritual realm just by watching what you do. Do you get drunk, use bad language, tell dirty jokes, and have bad tempers? Then you will be labeled as a hypocrite.
Don't get me wrong, we are not perfect. Do we exhibit behaviors such as this from time to time? Of course, unfortunately. But we have the spiritual power withing ourselves to direct these mistakes and move forward.
What about your political candidate choice? Are the plans on his agenda for America aligned with your beliefs? We must all know our electoral leaders by perusing their internet pages not by how the sensationalized news guides us. How well do you know your candidate right now? How much research have you done?
God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give to President Trump the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Christ Jesus, become for President Trump wisdom from God, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. As Watchmen we declare the power of the cross and the blood of Jesus over Donald J. Trump, his house and all under his authority. Amen
I have started a President Trump Prayer Train. Please stop by and post a prayer.
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to "be know I am a witness."
Pray:
Help me to meditate each day: "I am a witness always to the Gospels."
Teach me to be patient and know you will mentor me. Remind me that prayer motivates me.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always.
