Romans 8:37
"Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through him who loved us.”
Are you feeling like a conqueror?
Or are you feelings mixed up with everything that is going on today? Protests, riots, looting and fame adorn the front pages of the news each day. You hate to turn it on, yet, you feel lost if you are not kept abreast each day in case it rears its ugly head in your neighborhood.
I have come to the resolve that being more than a conqueror means having such confidence that no matter what is thrown at your life, you know that Jesus will get you through. He will help you handle it. That means that no matter what problem you are faced with today or tomorrow, you are going to have victory over it.
So therefore, don't dread things. Don't fear the unknown. Don't live in anxiety. Don't live in uncertainty. It doesn't matter what the specifics of the situation are, you know with Christ holding your hand; you've got this!
That's because DEFEAT is not an option!
Start a new prayer today: "I can handle what ever life hands me. I can do whatever I need to do in life. I am more than a conqueror. I am equal to anything through him who infuses strength into me." Have this prayer near your bed. Write it down. Say it before your feet hit the floor from your bed. Then let thoughts come into your head after this prayer. Sit there, still, quiet, not moving. God will speak to your heart.
Having the right style of thinking is the first step toward a better life. Just wishing something isn't going to work. Being anxiety-ridden hoping God will swoop down and smite all your enemies, isn't correct. Self-pity is a waste of time and energy. Discovering God through his word and prayer will have you beginning to think a new life is just around the corner!
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to "be a conqueror."
Pray:
Help me to meditate: the above prayer each morning.
Teach me to be patient and know you will mentor me.
Remind me that prayer motivates me.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always.
