Romans 15:5-6
"Now may the God who gives the power of patient endurance and who supplies encouragement, grant you to live in such mutual harmony and such full sympathy with one another, in accord to Christ Jesus, that together you may unanimously with united hearts and one voice, praise and glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Are you rolling through life wondering "Can I do this?" Do you contemplate what needs to be done with the curiosity of debating if you can or can't?
The Scripture says God supplies us with encouragement. Encouragement says, "You can do it!" But perhaps your life has been downtrodden with the other side of the coin, "You can't". Maybe you heard this repeatedly throughout your life. There are people out there who are typical controllers telling us what we can and can't do. Some people don't even put thought into their replays when they tell us, "No, I'll get it but thanks."
Parents, teachers, coaches, friends, family members, and leaders of church groups or socials activities often fail to realize the power of their words over young lives. Many of these youngsters grow up thinking, "I can't." But they "can", and so can you! There are miracles every day just from thinking that exact same thought, "I can" "I got this."
It is Christ, who is our strength, whom helps us. God believes in you; and it may be the time you need to start believing in yourself. Maybe you are going through "the fire" a bit of a test on your well being. But, today is a new day! Stop moping and get on with what you can do. If you made a mistake, move past. Don't dwell on the past letting it suffocate you. Pick up your bootstraps, move on and try again. Put the past behind you and all its negative, discouraging comments you. Negative words and words that speak of failure come from the enemy, not from God. So decide right now to not allow the power of "you can't" any longer.
God tells you to have courage, so always remember if you feel "discouraged" it is the enemy gnawing on your feebleness. Change that word to "encouraged" and know that God supports you. Choose to agree with God and say to yourself, "I can!" And let the power of your positive thoughts and words outweigh the power of the negative words anyone else has ever spoken to you.
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to say "I can" always.
Pray:
Help me to meditate on the words I can .
Teach me to pray to Christ when I feel like I can't.
Remind me that it is the enemy who makes me feel like I can't.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always.
