Isaiah 40:31
"But those who wait for the Lord (who expect, look for, and hope in him) shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up (close to God) as eagles."
Ever felt like you are in a place that you don't belong?
Like you should be somewhere else? That this spot in life is just not where you should be?
It is like an eagle who flies in a chicken yard. All of a sudden he notices the chain-link fence, and he's all pent up wondering how the heck can he get out. He knows he should be soaring. But at this particular moment he's in a tizzy.
You may be experiencing this driving force that just won't leave propelling you to seek higher ground. This is due to God's great purpose for your life. You cannot escape or ignore it. It is the Nike saying, "JUST DO IT."
In the meantime realize that all eagles are uncomfortable in a barnyard; they all long for the clear, blue, open skies. When you are living in a place that keeps you from being who you were made to be and doing what you are meant to do, you will be uncomfortable. There may also be those people around you who think you are "full of it". They may want to set you in your place giving you the big picture of life. Don't give in though. Don't start questioning yourself. "Why do I feel like this? Why do I think I'm destined for better things? Why can't I just settle down and live this normal life happy?" The reason is you are not a chicken like the others. You are an eagle! You are never going to feel at home in that chicken yard. You were made for something bigger!
If you are one of those people right now, I ask you to reach deep for that inner flame and embrace it. Fan it until it burns brightly again. Never give up on the greatness God has planned for you. Never try to hide your uniqueness. Never feel you can't do what He plans for you. Realize your hunger for a new adventure is God-given. Aim high! Wait patiently! You are an eagle!
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to be an eagle
Pray:
Help me to realize that there are greater plans for me.
Teach me to trust that you know what I need.
Remind me that you are with me every step of the way.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always
