2 Corinthians 5:18
"But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. "
What does it mean to have your account balanced with God? It means that you are reconciled automatically! You don't owe a thing!
It reminds me of a bumper sticker that says, "I owe, I owe, so off to work I go!" It seems to be the mindset we all have. We often feel we owe God something for the paths we've taken in life. Most of us try every day to do good works towards others to make up for any wrong doings we've committed. We all want to feel blessed by him and earn his blessings. But there is no need! We can not pay for his gifts or make up for those mistakes we've made. Because they are not gifts at all! They are automatically given.
God sees the heart in all of us. He knows how to deal with us based on the kind of heart he already placed. You don't have to do everything right! All you need to do is love God and make sure you are genuinely sorry for your sins. He already knows your feelings of disappointment. He knows you want him in your life. So why torment yourself? Let those feelings of guilt and fear wash away. God loves you unconditionally and already releases you from those negative emotions by allowing you to enjoy yourself while you change.
In 2 Corinthians 5:20, Paul emphasizes again the reconciliation and favor God extends to us and encourages us to believe these things: " So we are Christ's ambassadors, God making his appeal as it were through us. I beg you, for his sake, to lay hold of the divine favor and be reconciled to God." Paul is actually begging the believers of his day to take hold of what God is offering and I urge you to do the same. Don't allow another moment of thought pertaining to "making up" for your misgivings. It is already done! You are balanced!
This Week's Meditation:
Teach me to "I am already balanced."
Pray:
Help me to meditate each day: "But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."
Teach me to be patient and know you will mentor me. Remind me that prayer motivates me.
Meditate on this for several minutes a day. Allow various thoughts to come into your mind. And realize God has you in his arms always.
